What is myoActivation?
myoActivation® is a systematic methodology used to assess and treat chronic pain and mobility impairment. Through the combination of activating muscles in sustained contraction, relaxing fascia in tension, and releasing relevant scars, myoActivation uses needles (no medication) with the aim to resolve pain, improve movement and restore wellbeing. The myoActivation methodology was developed by Dr. Greg Siren & has been applied in over 50,000 encounters in more than 8,000 patients. There are approximately 300 clinicians currently trained in this pain care.
To ensure quality assurance, myoActivation® has been trademarked.
What to expect

myoActivation Process
Before your first appointment a lifetime injury history will be taken, including an inventory of scars.
Your treatment will involve movement tests, palpation and needling.
Appointments are booked one week apart. Each session is 45 mins (intake) and 30 mins (follow up). Plan for 4 sessions. Some people may need more.
What to wear: Shorts and loose fitting shirt. Avoid light colours. You may be asked to remove your shirt, an exercise bra is recommended.
Needling: Hollow bore needles are used (like you would get a vaccination with). The needle is NOT left in. No medication is injected.
After treatment: Reducing vigorous exercise for 2-3 days post-treatment is advised to prevent strain and allow tissues to heal. Plan your appointments accordingly.
Risks: Vary considerably between persons and may include: bruising, discomfort at site of needling (varies with patient), nausea, dizziness, lightheadedness, post treatment fatigue and soreness for a few days, pneumothorax if needling over lung fields.
